About Alain

Alain Mayrand is a trained composer who creates melodic, textured scores, shaping a distinct musical voice for each project.

From the gentle weight of the Thoriphants in Mosley (Rhys Darby, Lucy Lawless), to the introspective lyricism of The Martini Shot (Matthew Modine, John Cleese), and the orchestral restraint of No Letting Go, his work is guided by the character and emotional world of each story.

His career spans both independent films and major studio productions, including work as an orchestrator and conductor on Elysium and What Happened to Monday. Classically trained, with advanced degrees in performance and composition, and a four-year residency with the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, he brings technical precision and collaborative reliability to every project.

His work has received international recognition, including an Academy Award shortlist for No Letting Go and a Hollywood Verge Film Award for Afterwards.
